The Football Association has confirmed that Fulham’s Pierre Wome will be suspended for three matches following his sending off at Newcastle. The Cameroon international was shown the red card in the 66th minute of the recent 2-0 defeat at St James’ Park for a reckless challenge on Magpies defender Andy Griffin.
And, as a result, the wingback will be sidelined for Saturday’s FA Cup third-round tie against Birmingham, the away trip to Bolton and either the match with Middlesbrough or a potential replay against Blues.
Wome joined Fulham on a one-year deal from Italian outfit Bologna in August but has struggled to hold down a regular first-team place under Jean Tigana.
