Oldham boss Iain Dowie will give a trial to former Cameroon international Samuel Ebwea following the news that Clyde Wijnhard could be out for the rest of the season.
Wijnhard is to undergo another knee operation and Dowie has wasted little time in his bid to find a replacement.
Ebwea, whose former clubs include Rapid Bucharest, will take part in a midweek reserve outing against Rotherham.
