Nantes midfielder star Eric Djemba-Djemba is looking for a summer move to The Premiership. The 21-year-old is rated as one of the best young midfielders in Le Championnat and is considered one of the finest prospects to emerge from Africa in recent years. The Cameroonian star broke into the Nantes first team last season and is now a permanent fixture in Les Canaris midfield.
Manchester United manager Sir Alex Ferguson is a known admirer of Djemba-Djemba’s talents, but a number of English clubs are beginning to take note of his abilities after a string of impressive displays.
Blackburn’s Graeme Souness was hugely impressed with Djemba-Djemba when he stole the show in Nantes’ win at Paris Saint Germain in November.
The Nantes star’s agent Willie McKay has now confirmed that there is a great deal of interest in his client.
« He is very keen to move to The Premiership this year, » the Monte Carlo based agent said.
« He is a great talent and has a lot of admirers in England.
« Nantes will be willing to let him go and we are sure there will be a great deal of interest in him.
« I know Graeme Souness went to watch Armand of Nantes in action against PSG, but it was Djemba-Djemba who he said was the best player on the pitch. »
Djemba-Djemba would not come cheap, but a player of his ability is sure to have his choice of clubs come the summer.
