Istanbul, February 16, 2006 – Former Cameroonian international Lucien Mettomo, a member of his country’s winning squad at both the 2000 and 2002 MTN Africa Cup of Nations, has gone on loan to Kayerispor in Turkey.
Mettomo will spend the rest of the season with the Turkish club, where his team mates include Ghanaian veteran Samuel Johnson. Mettomo is the third Cameroonian central defender to move to Turkey, following in the footsteps of Rigobert Song and Raymond Kalla, who have also both played in the German Bundesliga before.
Mettomo, who also played in England for Manchester City, is the property of struggling German side Kaiserslautern.
The 28-year-old Mettomo has not played for Cameroon since a World Cup qualifier against Sudan last March.
