MANY observers felt Geremi’s performance at Goodison Park was his best in a Boro shirt yet – and the player himself agrees. « We were very good as a team in the first half, » said the 23-year-old, who is on a season-long loan from Real Madrid. « I don’t know what happened in the second half, but I enjoyed myself. It was the best yet but I hope to get better.
« We learned something from the game. We have to do something here this season and we are learning every day and every game.
« That will happen until the end of the season, which is the way we will improve. »
The Cameroon star has played his part in an exciting approach adopted by Boro this season and he for one is happy with the style.
« We are a young team, we enjoy what we’re doing and I think we could surprise a few people this year.
« We play football at a fast pace, a quick game.
« Every day in training the manager tells us to use the ball, run with the ball and play in a positive way.
« I’m enjoying it, I came here to play football and that’s what I’m doing. It is not up to me to dictate how we should play, but I like the way we go into games. »
Boro’s next opponents Birmingham City will arrive at The Riverside in confident mood, but Geremi is unconcerned.
« We don’t care, » he says flatly.
« We are at home and we must look to win every game. We are confident playing at home.
« Birmingham will be confident, they had a good win on Monday, but we are playing well at home and we must win our games.
« We have to fear no-one and go into the game with the approach that every team is there to be beaten.
« I am happy with the ways things are working out for me here.
« I am glad I came and we will see what happens at the end of the season, but there is a lot of work to be done before then and I hope a lot of enjoyment for the fans. »
