Cameroon’s Enoh Eyong came through a test of his muscle injury on Monday night with Ajax Amsterdam’s reserves and could be in contention to play for his new club at the weekend.
The former Ajax Cape Town midfielder has been out of action over the past month.
But he started Monday’s reserve match against PSV Eindhoven, along with former Urban Warriors teammates Daylon Claasen and goalkeeper Hans Vonk.
Ajax were beaten 2-1 with Vonk playing all 90 minutes and Claasen coming on for the second half of the match.
Eyong made his Ajax debut in September against Feyenoord and has played three league games in total, plus a tie in the Uefa Cup.
Ajax, who are part of a three-way tie at the top of the Dutch Eredivisie standings, have a crunch tie against PSV Eindhoven on Sunday.
Kick Off, SA.
