Nottingham Forest have completed the emergency loan signing of Wolves defender George Elokobi.
Elokobi has played 74 games for Wolves during his four-year spell at Molineux but has struggled to consolidate a regular place in the starting line-up.
With only eight appearances for Wolves in the Premier League this season and five coming as a substitute, Elokobi will be looking use the move to build a run of starts.
The loan deal could see the former Colchester player stay at the City Ground until the end of the season.
Opportunity
A 24-hour recall clause will come into effect after the first 28 days of the loan but Wolves boss Mick McCarthy believes the switch gives Elokobi a chance to get first team football.
« This loan move gives George the chance to go out and try and get some games, » he said.
« We’ve got all of our defenders back fit now and this should give George an opportunity to play. »
The Cameroon-born defender will join Wolves team-mate Adlene Guedioura, who is already at Forest on loan.
Elokobi could feature for Forest on Saturday as they host 16th-place Watford as they battle to try and find a way out of the Championship relegation zone.
