New signing Carlos Kameni has revealed that Wolves was always his first choice. The 19-year-old goalkeeper signed on a one-year loan from French club Le Havre this morning after more than three weeks of talks. Several reports had linked the Cameroon International with a move to Bordeaux but Carlos tells Wolves World in an exclusive interview that he has always dreamt of playing in England – especially in the Premier League.
« This is a very good opportunity for me. I want to play in this team and I know that to be successful I have to work hard, but I look forward to the challenge, » he says.
« It has taken a while but I always wanted to come to Wolves. I spoke to Le Havre and told them I didn’t want to go to Bordeaux. I always wanted to play in England. »
« I came to Wolverhampton last Sunday to meet the people at the club and to see the town and I was very happy with what I saw. I knew I wanted to stay.
« English football is probably the best in the world and I have always wanted to move abroad, particularly here, to prove my talent.
« Now everything is nearly finished and I am here. I am just hoping that I will get a work permit soon so I can play. I am also trying to get a French passport, which would solve the problem, but I am still waiting for an answer. »
