Samuel Eto’o has carried on where he left off last term as he is Barca’s pre-season top goalscorer, netting goals in Denmark, the Far East and in the Ramon de Carranza.
Barcelona have played six friendly matches since the pre-season programme kicked off on July 18 and have racked up the goals. The team has won four and drawn two of their games, although the draw against Sevilla went in Barca’s favour after a penalty shoot-out. In the sextet of outings, the Blaugrana have scored 22 goals an only conceded three, giving them average of 3.6 goals per game with a 0.5 average of goals conceded.
Eto’o equaliser against Cadiz on Saturday evening in the final of the Ramon de Carranza took him to the top of the club’s pre-season scoring charts with four goals. The Cameroon international is followed by fellow striker Henrik Larsson on three, who scored in both games in Denmark against East Jutland and AGF and in Macau against Shenzhen Jianlibao. Ronaldinho’s double against Cadiz saw him enter the list behind the Swede and hand Barca the Ramon de Carranza Trophy for the first time since 1962.
