Elite One: Union records second victory, Caiman slips in Limbe
Union Sportive of Douala recorded a second successive victory yesterday in the pre season friendly tournament regrouping some elite one and two clubs at Reunification stadium in Douala. The Nassara Kamakai were two one winners over Littoral regional division two side, SIMAF F.c of Douala.
Despite their victory, supporters of the « Green and Whites » were far from being satisfied with the performance of their darling team that lacked coherence from the midfield to the attack line thereby creating a lot of panic in their whole system of play. Union were even lucky not to have conceded a late equaliser from SIMAF who were a bit goal shy. However Union’s supporters can savour a victory home but it was absolute disappointment for supporters and fans of AS Matelots of Douala who were hammered four goals to one by another regional division two side, Douala Athletic Club 2000, DAC. AS Matelots did not seem as a club that will start the new football season in the days ahead as they were just a shadow of themselves, totally dominated on the field of play, humbled and humiliated by an inexperienced but collective DAC. Matelots will have to go back as fast as possible to the drawing boards to revise their lessons before the season kicks off.
On the other hand, Caiman FC of Douala, recorded their first defeat in pre season friendly as they were beaten two goals to one by the Njalla Quan Sports Academy, NQSA at the Limbe Centenary stadium. NQSA were just back from Douala where they pulled a one one draw with Sable F.c of Batie before the encounter. It should be recalled that Caiman had defeated the NQSA a week ago by three goals to one in Douala.
Meanwhile The Yong Sports Academy of Bamenda and Aigle Royale of the Menoua have programmed a friendly encounter in the days ahead.
