Ahead of the start of the 51st edition of elite football season in Cameroon, outgoing Champions Tiko United would be holding their extraordinary congress on Saturday, September 12, at the Tiko town green hall at 4:00 p.m.
Though the agenda of the congress is yet to be disclosed, sources close to the management say a stable administration to run the affairs of the club shall be put in place alongside a fundraising event to support the team which will be flying Cameroon’s flag high on the continental scene when the CAF African Champions league begins.
The « Samba Boys » are presently camping in Douala where they have been playing some friendly encounters. The team is expected to travel back to Tiko on Friday where they would be officially presented on Saturday to the public that will turn out for the congress. It should be noted that Charles Eteki Dikongue remains the executive President of the club after his resignation letter was rejected by the board of directors, headed by its chairperson, Paul Meoto Njie.
Supporters and fans are seriously bracing up for the congress as they have been buying the club’s gadgets as never before to keep up to the « rendez-vous ». In a chat with some supporters, many of them opined that the TIKO public is poised to maintain Charles Eteki as the cub’s president with the believe that he can handle the challenges facing the team this year.
