One of Cameroon’s most popular musician, Claude Adolf Mundi, popularly known as Petit Pays is now the president of one of Cameroon’s legendary football clubs, Caiman of Douala. The 44 year old musician recently took over from Benoit Mbangue whose regime at the helm of the club was plagued by financial constraints.
Petit Pays took charge of the club after elites and natives of Akwa solicited for his leadership to guard the club this football season. During his first outing as club president on Thursday at the Mbappe Leppe stadium, to witness a friendly encounter between his Akwa based club and ACAS Fc of Douala, the « Banaba Ngando » as Caiman are fondly called carried the day by two goals to zero to the delight of the musician.
Speaking to reporters after the encounter, the controversial Musician, called on all elites of the Akwa canton as well as fans and supporters of the club, no matter their denomination to join hands and support the one time pride of the nation. To him it is only through a participatory approach that the club can achieve its goals this football season. He equally promised a transparent management of funds as well as provides the financial as well as material needs of the club. It should be noted that the club has been plagued by a lot of financial draw backs for the past season and are looking ahead to a new dawn with Petit Pays.
However the task is far from being easy with the new format of the ELITE two where the club might have to travel to the Northern regions of Cameroon to face cubs there.
