A week after crashing out of the Caf Champions league, Coton Sport Garoua have suffered their heaviest domestic league defeat in over six years. Playing away, new comers, Victoria United punished them 3-0 as every thing appears to falling apart for the northern giants.
Together with Tonnerre Yaounde Coton Sport became the biggest movers after nine days of play. But while Coton Sport dropped from second to seventh position with 13 points, Tonnerre skipped up five places thanks to a 2-0 home win over bottom position Esperance Guider.
Strikers Gasper Aloma returned to the limelight thanks to his double for Tonnerre. There was a goal in each half.
Four games, three involving runners-up ended in a draw and consequently did not have great effect on the table. Bamboutos Mbouda stayed on top after a one all draw to Cintra Yaounde. With 18 points, they are four clear of Fovu Baham and Canon Yaounde who neutralised each other 1-1 and Kumbo Strikers who were forced to a home virgin tie by Asmy Yaounde.
Though MT. Cameroon FC Buea did not move place after their 1-0 home victory over Sable Batie, it was a big psychological win for the team. It ended a poor run for last year’s pacesetters who stand last but one in the 16-team league.
