MANCHESTER CITY defender Lucien Mettomo rejected the chance to join Kaiserslautern as he is keen to stay in England. The Cameroon international was set to join the German side this week after City agreed a fee for his transfer. Mettomo was even unveiled to the Kaiserslautern fans, but the move fell through after personal terms failed to be agreed.
The player’s agent Willie McKay revealed that Mettomo would like to stay in England, ideally with Manchester City, but that he was prepared to move on for first team football.
« The move to Kaiserslautern fell through because Lucien is keen to stay in England, » said McKay.
« He wants to play in The Premiership and he would preferably like to stay at Man City, but if he could not get regular first team football he would move on in England.
« Lucien was probably the best defender in the Confederations Cup as he played brilliantly against the likes of Ronaldinho and Djibril Cisse.
« Anyone who saw him in that could only have been impressed and he hoped that he would then get his chance at City.
« Wolves have shown an interest in him and he hopes that they may come back in for him. »
