LEEDS UNITED have finally completed the capture of Cameroon midfielder Salomon Olembe on loan from Marseille.
The Premiership outfit have been attempting to thrash out a deal to sign the African for the past few days and have reached an accord with their French counterparts.
Olembe links up with Lamine Sakho, who is also on loan from l’OM, while a third Marseille player, in the guise of striker Cyril Chapuis, could be added to the ranks.
Whites boss Peter Reid has been actively pursuing loan signings during the course of the summer with Zoumana Camara, Didier Domi and Jermaine Pennant arriving in West Yorkshire while Brazilian defender Roque Junior is awaiting a work permit to finalise his move.
Marseille confirmed Olembe has left Stade Velodrome and could make a permanent switch to Leeds if he impresses in The Premiership.
« Salomon Olembe has joined Lamine Sakho at Leeds United, » read a statement on Marseille’s official website.
« Just like the former Lens player, the Cameroon midfielder has been loaned to the English club for one year. There is the option to buy.
« This departure had been envisaged for several days but it only became official on Saturday. »
