THE deal to take Carlos Kameni to Wolves could be back on after the player re-opened discussions with the club. Plans to bring in the goalkeeper seemed to have been shelved after the Premiership side harboured doubts about the player’s commitment. However, Kameni has now contacted the club and is set for talks with Molineux officials to try and seal a loan deal from his French club, Le Havre.
« Dave Jones and I are prepared to meet with Carlos and give him the chance to prove to us that he genuinely wants to come to Wolves in the Premier League and not go somewhere else, » chief executive Jez Moxey told the club’s website.
He added: « If he can satisfy us that he is totally committed, and we can obtain a work permit, then there is still a chance he could be joining us on a one-year loan with an option to buy. »
Any work permit difficulties could soon be overcome as the Cameroon international has applied for a French passport.
