The third edition of the Semences Olympiques – Iya Mohamed football tournament for youths will start on Monday in Yaounde. Eight football schools, including Semences Olympiques have been drawn into two groups of four each.
For the first time two schools will be coming out of Yaounde. The Njalla Quan sports academy from Limbe and Ngompem football centre from the outskirts of Yaounde will be spending a week in Yaounde to demonstrate their talents in a bigger scene.
Onze D’or, St. Dominique, Semences Olympiques and Njalla Quan sports academy will play in group A, while Nkomkana FC, Nancy Stars/Emergence, Centre Futur football and Ngompem football centre will struggle for top position from group B.
This edition is a special Easther edition and as usual it will involve the three categories of each school. That is the U-13, U-15 and U-17 categories.
Semences Olympiques have been given the honour to play the opening game at 9.00 am against St. Dominique at the play grounds next to the Ahmadou Ahidjo stadium.
According to the proprietor of Semences Olympiques and organiser of the tournament, Pascal Atangana, the event will serve as preparatory tournament for his school which has been invited to an international U-13 tournament in Dijon, France.
The Yaounde tournament which is organised every holiday is fast gaining popularity, especially as the Fecafoot organised youth football competition is finding it hard to walk certainly bacause of its huge size. The Semences Olympiques tournaments are easy to handle and provide more fun for the children during holidays.
