Indomitable Lions coach Winfried Schafer has invited three players absent from the African Nations Cup.
Cameroon’s head coach Winfried Schafer has recalled Pierre Njanka Beaka, Joseph Desire Job and Christian Tchuisse to the squad for their World Cup warm-up against Austria.
The three players are part of a 24-man team summoned to camp in Vienna on 15 April.
The remaining players are from the squad that won the Nations Cup in February, except for Jean Dika Dika, who has been dropped, due to persistent injury.
He played no game in Mali 2002.
After the Mali tournament, Schafer said only that Job and Njanka were to join the squad in preparation for the World Cup.
But he has been forced to include Tchuisse, in order to improve the quality of defending.
Tchuisse, who plays his club football in Russia with Spartak Moscow, was brought into the national side last year.
He was a substitute in two World Cup qualifiers before Schafer took charge.
Desire Job, a striker, lost his position to Samuel Eto’o Fils after the Nations Cup in 2000.
He returns after reviving his career in Metz, France, following his failure to be regular at English Premiership club Middlesbrough.
It was an Injury in May 2001 that put the promising Njanka out of the side.
Cameroon have two subsequent warm-up games against Denmark and England before the World Cup begins.
