NUMANCIA have fined Cameroonian star Patrick Suffo, who went missing for a week amidst rumours of a possible transfer to Saudi Arabian side Al Ahli.
After leaving Sheffield United, mainly because of his role in the brawl with West Brom last season, Suffo ended up with the Segunda Liga side.
However, despite reports in the Saudi Arabian press stating Suffo had moved there, the player was adamant he was ready and willing to give it a go in Spain.
The 24-year-old Suffo asked for time off to travel to England and sort out personal matters but he failed to report in to Numancia for four days and there were rumours he was in Paris trying to negotiate a move to Al Ahli.
« I was in Sheffield, » maintained Suffo. « But the things I wanted to solve took more time than predicated.
« In addition I made the trip by car not airplane. »
Speaking about his alleged move to Al Ahli, Suffo said: « During the World Cup there was some contact with my agent, but now there is nothing. »
« I want to play in Spain and to prove myself. »
Numancia coach Manu Sarabia explained that after the fine the matter had been forgotten, the club were just upset that Suffo had not contacted them to tell them of his delay.
