A day following their advance to the quarterfinals of the Absa Cup after eliminating city neighbours and rivals SuperSport United 2-1, Sundowns players were hard in training at Chloorkop. Some would have expected Roger Feutmba to give the players a day off; especially when one considers the tough games they have played within 48hours, narrowly losing 1-0 to Jomo Cosmos and then edging out United 2-1.
However, the former Cameroon international – Feutmba – was having none of that and was neither impressed nor swayed by the fact that Sundowns have no local commitments for the next two weeks.
The Brazilians are preparing for their CAF Cup encounter against Angolan side Primero de Agosto whom they face in the first round, first leg match at the Citadela Stadium in Luanda on Saturday April 12.
A day before, South African defending league champions Santos come up against Simba from Tanzania in the first leg, first round African Champions League at the Athlone Stadium on Friday night.
And on Sunday, Jomo Cosmos, led by former Mozambican international Tico-Tico Bucuane, face Costa do Sol, a team that produced Sundowns striker Vitinho, in an African Cup Winners Cup first round first leg tie in Maputo.
