Hi to all the Schaeffer opponents here. A little respect please. I can understand our frustration when the team is not doing well. But please, just try to keep your good brains above the emotions. It is hard to lose I know but it is sport and we should be ready for that. That’s football. I hope we don’t want to get into the Guinness book of records for switching coaches. I hope not.

And whoever said the players don’t respect Schaeffer? Please try and say it in someother tone then that’s disrespect. You can’t prove that and I really wonder if you have ever wacthed any training session of the national team under his control. If you have done so and still write that it is like a market place at the training camps, then shame on you for telling lies. I can understand the stress of loosing to IC. I saw them train here in Bittburg and didn’t see any market place behaviour during training session. I watched them train at Leichlingen near Cologne and didn’t see that too. I even watched them train in Cameroon at the Beac complex and I doubt if that was the case. I talked to Idrissou last friday about their training session at Copper’s bar here in Hannover and he gave me someother impression from what I get to read here. I sometimes ask myself whom I should believe. You guys or Mo Idrissou?
Anyway, one thing is clear, he has a contract for 2 years and nobody on this forum can take that away from him. I’m really sorry about that but his staff especially thomas Nkono holds very much of him. I remember wacthing CRTV last summer while in Cameroon on holidays and Thomas Nkono saying he cannot take over the job as trainer because Schaeffer is the only person for the job. So there is no need for us cracking our brains here.
Anyway, there is another attitude that I would really like to discourage among these players. I know it is right they know each other very well and always feel good seeing each other again when they are on international duties. But the one thing they should always bear in mind is that they are there for football and not for rendezvous. I sometimes feel these guys forget that when they meet each other especially on such short occasions. The football goes to the background and they tend to feel hapy seing eachother again. I know these from one flight I had together with them sometimes back while they were on their way to Cameroon for a qualifying match against Somalia. The 6 hours flight from Paris to Yaounde was just full of noise like the market place somebody wrote in his post here. By then Lechantre was still the coach and he couldn’t stop them from making that much noise. They only had much luck coz they had an opponent without much knowledge of the game. It would have been the same thing like against IC. So don’t say Schaeffer doesn’t have control over them. Nobody ever had. WE are all Cameroonians and we know how we behave when we see each other again. Nobody can change that. It was the same thing with Pagal and makanaky in the time of Jules Nyongha. These guys never ever wanted to go to bed early at night. They kept playing cards. Ask tatw Stephen for confirmation if you have doubts. We only had weaker opponents that’s why we didn’t lose. So losing against IC shouldn’t be a cause for concern here. Just hold on so that a reall tournament approeaches where they would have time to get used to each other for long and forget about seing each other and concentrate on football.
Germany came to the world cup through the back door but when the reall time came, we all saw how far they went. They had lost matches to Finland and little known football nations but when it was time to prove your worth, they stood up to their manhood and raised the level of their games. We were playing marvelous football ahead of the world cup only to give a less than average performancve when the time came. I prefere we lose against IC now and win the confederations cup. That would be OK with me as a real fan who doesn’t lose his head when things don’t work the way I expect them to be. it is just football and in that game, even Argentina lose and Brazil doesn’t just beat China and France lose to Cyech Republic and England lose to Australia at home. Sweden lose to an African side Tunisia. I could continue the list.
Anyway, I never heard so many people saying Erickson must go, or the French coach must go.. I don’t think we are aove humanity. We are just Cameroonians and must learn to human like everyother people on this continent. We are not some other class. Simple, we are not supernatural. We are just in the game. Not above it. WE CAN ALSO LOSE!!!! IT’S FOOTBALL
