In-form Germany striker Miroslav Klose is fit for his side’s crunch Group E meeting with Cameroon on Tuesday after recovering from a knee injury.
« The medical team are confident he’ll be playing, » said Germany assistant coach Michael Skibbe.
Klose had to be substituted during Germany’s 1-1 draw with the Republic of Ireland last Wednesday, but the signs are encouraging. « He trained on Sunday, » Skibbe went on.
Germany need to avoid defeat against Cameroon to progress and their four-goal striker’s return comes as a major boost.
Coach Rudi Voller was further lifted on Sunday by news that defender Christoph Metzelder is likely to recover from an ankle problem picked up against the Irish.
