Eighteen players of the male cadet Indomitable Lions are expected to leave the country today for Gabon where they will on Sunday play against their Gabonese counterparts.
The match will be counting for the eliminatory phase of the 5th African games billed for Swaziland early next year. Sunday’s match will be the baptism of fire for the youngsters recently recruited into the team. Before the final selection of the top eighteen, over 30 players where called to camp at Akono on December 9, 2002 for pre-selection matches that culminated in the final selection. The players left their Akono hideout last Wednesday to Yaounde were final preparatory activities have been afoot ahead of the match on Sunday. Commenting on the team’s preparedness, trainer, Abe Anatole Christien expressed optimism.
