MIDDLESBROUGH have taken Cameroon international Joseph Desire Job off the transfer list. The 24-year-old forward went on the market last season, shortly after Steve McClaren arrived as Boro boss last season.
Job was then loaned out to French club Metz, but their relegation from Le Championnat meant they could not proceed with a permanent deal.
However, things have turned around for Job following the arrival of his international colleague Geremi from Real Madrid.
Job, who rooms with Geremi on international duty, made a very good impression during pre-season and he has since grabbed his first team opportunity with both hands – scoring the winner against Blackburn Rovers.
McClaren has now taken Job of the transfer list, something he is very happy to do.
« He was unlucky last year and wanted to leave, » said the Boro boss.
« If someone had come in, he would have gone. But I’m not letting him go now, we are delighted to keep him. »
Meanwhile, Boro have revealed that Craig Dove’s loan move to Scunthorpe collapsed last week and the youngster did not move to Glanford Park.
