Portsmouth have brought in former Middlesbrough target Rodolph Douala on a season-long loan.
The Sporting Lisbon winger arrives at Fratton Park for the season, with a view to a permanent move.
He had long been linked with a switch to fellow Premiership side Boro, who attempted to sign the Cameroon international last year.
Earlier in the summer, Boro tried again and appeared to agree a £2 million fee with Sporting, only for the African to reject a deal at The Riverside.
Douala has now finally clinched his switch to The Premiership after accepting the offer from ambitious Portsmouth.
The attacker becomes Harry Redknapp’s 10th signing of the summer and agreed the transfer while preparing for Cameroon’s African Cup of Nations qualifier with Rwanda.
