Burnley have signed Aston Villa’s out-of-favour Cameroon midfield man Eric Djemba-Djemba on loan until the end of the season.
The 25-year-old has signed in time to make his debut at Southampton.
Clarets’ boss Steve Cotterill said: « Eric has good pedigree and once we get him fit we hope he will be a good addition to the squad. He might give us that boost we need to push for the play-offs.
« It says something about the boy’s character that he is prepared to drop down from the Premiership. »
Djemba-Djemba moved to Villa from Manchester United in a £1.3m deal in January 2005 after struggling to make an impact at Old Trafford, making only 39 appearances in 18 months.
