Ajax Cape Town hammered Mount Cameroon 5-1 at the Athlone Stadium on Saturday night in the first leg of their second round CAF Cup tie.
The Urban Warriors were dominant throughout the 90 minutes and opened proceedings in the second minute when on-fire striker Nathan Paulse scored with a shot from the edge of the area.
In the 16th minute Russell Mwafulirwa scored the second goal when he capitalised on a defensive error.
Ajax took their two goal lead into the break and then made it 3-0 in the 48th minute when Mkhanyiseli Siwahla lobbed the ball over the head of the Cameroon keeper.
Paulse made it four after 70 minutes when he netted his brace, before Mount Cameroon scored their only goal of a one-sided match after 74 minutes.
The goal came from the penalty spot – Sielemou Djiena converted after Clayton Daniels handled the ball inside the box, an act for which he was red-carded.
With seven minutes to go Siwahla completed the rout and got his second when he dribbled through the visitors defence to rub slat into the wounds of the bewildered Cameroon outfit.
