CAMEROON international striker Pius N’Diefi claims he has received an approach from Premiership new boys Wolves. Dave Jones was frustrated in a bid to sign Modeste M’Bami from Sedan, with the African midfielder instead opting for Paris Saint Germain, but the Molineux manager has now showed an interest in M’Bami’s club and international colleague.
N’Diefi sprung to prominence with the well-taken winning goal in the Confederations Cup semi-final against Colombia in Lyon this summer. He was previously a member of his country’s 2002 World Cup squad.
With Sedan relegated, the 28-year-old is keen to quit the club, even though he only signed a new three-year contract last year.
« I have some keys (to a departure), » he declared. « I am patient.
« Lille and Monaco follow me and I have an equal contact with England.
« Wolverhampton approached me recently.
« For the moment, the directors of these clubs contacted my agent, and I hope they will make serious offers to Sedan.
« I have two years left on my contract but hope president (Pascal) Urano allows me to leave.
« I cross my fingers that I will depart. »
Wolves are also one of a long list of admirers of N’Diefi’s Sedan pal Henri Camara, and could look to make a double swoop.
Camara has a number of other suitors, including Leeds United and clubs in France, but the Premiership newcomers are now favourites to seal his signature.
