WOLVES could be set to miss out again on a transfer target with Bordeaux joining the chase for Cameroon goalkeeper Carlos Kameni. Having lost out to PSG for Cameroon midfielder Modeste M’Bami, Wolves could again be beaten to the punch for Kameni by Bordeaux.
The Premiership new boys have lined up a loan move for the St Etienne shot-stopper, with the option of a permanent deal, but now Bordeaux are preparing a move to steal him from under their noses.
The 19-year-old excelled for Cameroon in last month’s Confederations Cup and has attracted the interest of a host of clubs.
Bordeaux are in the market for a new goalkeeper with Frederic Roux set to leave Les Girondins for Birmingham City.
The French side are believed to have contacted Kameni over a move to Parc Lescure and they will hope to be able to persuade him to stay in France rather than move to England.
Should Bordeaux be successful in their attempts to sign Kameni the news will be a major blow to Wolves boss Dave Jones and his transfer plans ahead of the new season.
