CAMEROONIAN goalkeeper Carlos Idriss Kameni is being chased by six Premiership clubs. The Le Havre ace is attracting the interest of a host of top clubs after his superb showings for Cameroon in last month’s Confederations Cup. Kameni was instrumental in Cameroon’s charge to the final conceding just one goal in the five games in last weekend’s final against France.
A number of clubs watched the 19-year-old in action in France and are weighing up moves for him according to his agent Monte-Carlo based Willie McKay.
« There is a lot of interest in Kameni, » McKay told Planetfootball.com.
« He was very impressive in the Confederations Cup and was the best goalkeeper on show.
« There are five or six Premiership clubs looking at signing him on loan for the season with the option to buy.
« I am talking to seven clubs about Kameni and there are three confirmed offers on the table for him. »
Birmingham are reported to be one of the clubs chasing Kameni’s signature.
Kameni first came to the fore with a stunning series of displays at the 2000 Sydney Olympics helping the ‘Indomitable Lions’ win the gold medal.
