Midfielder Marc Vivien Foe was named City’s Player of the Month after his goals helped City to ten points out of a possible fifteen for the month of December.
The First Advice/Manchester City Player of the Month for December is Cameroon international, Marc Vivien Foe. The award, sponsored by First Advice, the Manchester-based financial services company and Manchester City Club sponsor, was presented by First Advice’s Managing Director, Stephen Jones.
The award was made to the midfield player in recognition of his performance in scoring six goals in six games.
« This was a great performance from Marc and we have high hopes for him for the remaining part of the season, » said Stephen Jones, Managing Director, First Advice.
The twenty-seven-year-old who is on loan from Olympique Lyonnais until the end of the season was quick to pay tribute to the rest of the City players when accepting the award.
« I am very happy to win this award, » he said. « It is a delight to play in this team and feel that if all my chances had gone in this season then I could have scored something like fifteen goals. »
« Kevin Horlock has been a big help to me as he gives me more opportunities to go forward. I believe I have more to give and will keep learning and working with the other players who have been a great support to me. »
The Cameroon international’s scoring spree started with his first goal for the club at Sunderland. He followed that up with a brace at Charlton a further two in the Boxing Day win over Aston Villa and the second in City’s 2-2 New Year’s Day draw at Everton.
