Cameroonian goal ace Samuel Eto’o says he wants to focus on keeping his Spanish club in the top flight.
Cameroon striker Samuel Eto’o says he wants to solely concentrate on performing for his club Real Mallorca, despite constant discussion over his future.
« I know there are a lot of rumours that link me to several English teams for the upcoming season, but that is something I don’t want to talk about right now, » Eto’o revealed.
« The most important thing for me at this moment is to make sure Mallorca doesn’t descend. »
His team are only two points above the Primera Liga drop zone, and lost 5-0 last Saturday to Deportivo La Coruña.
This weekend will play Valencia, joint top of the division.
But Eto’o said his team must not be afraid.
« We cannot shiver. Valencia is one of the biggest clubs but if we mend the mistakes we made in La Coruña we can win, » he said.
« We have the quality to do it and we have to prove it to our supporters. »
