Cameroon’s Bill Tchato says the Lions are confident of success in Japan and Korea.
Cameroon’s Bill Tchato is confident his team can make it the final of the World Cup in Japan and Korea.
« We have a real chance. We are not afraid of any teams, so I think we can go far, » Tchato told BBC Sport Online.
« We can go to the semi-final, and why not the final? »
That would eclipse Cameroon’s best ever performance at the World Cup, in Italy in 1990, when they lost 3-2 in a quarter-final against England.
But Tchato said he was confident it could be achieved.
« I think our group is a very easy group because the Germans and Saudi Arabia are not very difficult for us, » he revealed.
« Ireland have good players, but I think Cameroon have a lot of good players. »
And he added that confidence was especially high following his team’s victory at the 2002 Nations Cup Final in Mali.
« We won the African Cup of Nations, which was very good for us, because we’ll go to Japan very strong, » he stated.
